About Duck Egg

Duck Egg started back in 2019 during the covid lockdowns. I'd graduated university a few years earlier and decided to get back into drawing - one thing led to another and I ended up trying to sell my prints, cards and embroidered hoops at markets.

My first market was October 2019 - it was a new craft market in Cambridge, and while the market wasn't super well known or busy, it gave me important practise in talking to people about my work and how to set up a stall displa

I then went on to try Ely Market for the first time August of 2020 - after trading twice a month for a little while I was then offered a permanent pitch for the Saturday market - and since May 2021 I've been there pretty much every Saturday (rain or shine

My art is dark and whimsical, inspired by ghosts, nature, cats and fantasy. I bought an iPad a few years ago and use it for all my designing - I love how portable it's made drawing and sometimes you can find me sketching away behind my stall. I enjoy taking part in lots of different markets when I'm not working you can normally find me reading, going for nature walks and hanging out with my cats, or going to concerts and playing dungeons and dragons.
